1992 ford bronco full size. Due to illness has sat for 1 yr. Wouldn't crank. New bat. Still won't crank. Gauges etc work but won't click or start to turn over? Handicapped and this is my vehicle. To tote my tool around machine. Help!

Vehicle sat for a year due to my illness. Wouldn't start. New bat. Still won't start. I don't get a click or start turn over. Nothing. Upon advice, removed red/blue wire from neg. Ground bow attached to fender. Then ran a test wire from pos+ post of battery. Acted like starting. Removed test wire quickly. Still won't turn over? What next? I'm handicapped, live in the country, no mechanic available.
