Replace timing chain turn crankshaft til cylinder one is tdc and rotate just a lil to 5 put distributor rotor to 12 o clock position and insert it automatically rotated rotor to 10 o clock position start truck timing sounds right but when depressing gas has slow start to know power and tends to overheat please help

Did you check the ignition timing?
Recheck your timing chain markings.
