Why does my wiper motor continuously stay on? It is noisy

The car is a 1990 HONDA ACCORD EXR COUPE. The wiper motor stays on and is noisy. Is there a relay on the circuit or does the motor need to be serviced. Wiggling the wires temporarily stopped it from running, but there was no problem with the operation of the wiper arms. It seems to indicate that there is an intermittent short.

Thank you,

I agree with you. If it stopped when you moved the wiring, there must be a short. What to do is check the wiring for insulation missing, damage, and check the plug where it pluggs into the wiper motor. Make sure nothing has melted on the plug allowing power to short. Same with the wiring.

If this only worked one time and moving the wiring doesn't work now, my next guess would be the switch itself.
