Bought a truck, test drove it and it acts like its not getting the fuel it needs to run the truck when I put it in gear or step on the gas. The fuel pump has a wire spliced into a red wire going to the relay switch dont know why but when I disconnect the wire it shuts off the fuel pump. Please help

It most likely powers the relay. Someone bypassed something or did not attempt to repair the issue. Bad move
