1989 FORD F-150 WON'T START

It won't start no noise and the battery is good I cleaned terminals and replaced the positive connector I tried to jump it across the solenoid and it just makes a faint click the truck is well care for, I would like to know how to tell if it is the started the solenoid or something else

Hold the key to start position and tap The starter with a hammer.

It doesn't start you need to check the voltage at the red wire on the starter
