The clearance between the top of the lower ball joint and the cv axle is causing the band on the boot to be ripped off. The ball joint and cv axle have been recently replaced. Any ideas?I have already confirmed that the parts are correct.

Have you checked the diameter of the outer shaft, where both sides replaced? Can you check one against the other, I do feel that this is where the problem may lie as everything else is constant look at this first, let me know what you find.

If there was not problem prior to having the CV, s done, I would be highly suspicious of the diameter or the outer CV case, I will endeavor to try and find a measurement for this, but this may take a little time, I am in Australia and we do not have that model here, so my CV charts will be of no use.
