I have a 4 speed manual with some front end damage from a bumper accident. It still runs well; however, the steering wanders and has too much play in the wheel. Tie rod?
have the same problem?

You could have certainly bent some steering and suspension components, have an alignment shop check the steering links and tie rods as well as upper and lower control arms.
