Hey Medic, I'm ready for some more help again!

Here's what I've done since my last post - 1 - Installed a ballast resister and 2 - had my ignition control module tested (checked good) and my ignition coil tested (checked good) Both tests were by the local auto parts store. Since both of those parts tested good I replaced my pick up coil. Cranked my engine and still the same result, engine turns but no spark at all. What else could it be? I have heard one of my engine management relay switches click while I attempt to crank the engine could that be a problem?

1ST THINGS 1ST----CHECK YOUR FUSES!!!!----A BAD DISTRIBUTOR PICK UP---BROKEN WIRES---A BAD IGNITION MODULE (WHATEVER YOU HAVE) COULD PLAY IN

EVEN MOVE WIRES AROUND WHILE SOMEONE ELSE TRIES TO START IT---LOOK FOR MELTED WIRES ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE WIRE LOOMS---ESPECIALLY WHERE THEY RUN ACROSS THE HEAD OR NEAR THE EXHAUST OR EXHAUST MANIFOLD

EZ SET UP!

SORTA 1950s GRAND THEFT AUTO---SORTA BEFORE LOCKING STEERING (AND I'MMA '63 MODEL)

TWO WAYS TO DO THIS----PICK YOUR POISON

1) THE 1ST WAY (PICs 1 AND 2) THIS BYPASSES EVERYTHING IGNITION----BAD THING IS THE IGNITION STUFF IS STILL CONNECTED TO IT ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE IGNITION SWITCH

POSITIVE BATTERY TO POSITIVE COIL!!!

SO................. IF THERE IS A SHORT (AND YOU INTRODUCE UN-PROTECTED POWER) THINGS "COULD GO BAD" WITH WIRING.

YOU CAN SEE I USED A 15 AMP FUSE RIGGED W/ 2 FEMALE SPADE CONNECTORSEVEN DOING THIS, THE PROBLEM ALONG THE WAY, BACK TOWARDS THE IGN SWITCH MAY PREVENT IT FROM BUSTING OFF AND RUNNING

2) THIS IS ANOTHER WAY TO DO IT---ELIMINATES THE WIRE BACK TO THE KEY COMPLETELY----SET UP IS A BIT MORE COMPLICATED----IT'S STILL POSITIVE BATTERY TO POSITIVE COIL----BUT IF SOMETHING WAS GROUNDED BACK TOWARDS THE KEY............THIS COMPLETELY ELIMINATES IT, FOR THIS TEST

IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT COIL----DOING THIS ONLY TEMPORARILY ---"WITHOUT" ---A RESISTOR OR BALLAST RESISTOR WILL HURT NOTHING----IT SHOULD AT LEAST SPIT, SPUTTER, OR COUGH.....HOPEFULLY RUN!THIS WILL LET US KNOW IT'S GETTING IGNITION

IF YOU WILL REVIEW THIS PIC (3) AT THE TOP"I" FEEDS IT FULL 12 VOLTS AT START UP.......SO WE ARE GOOD FOR A FEW MINUTES OF RUNNING

HERE'S THINGS TO REMEMBER!!!

DO THIS OUTSIDE, AWAY FROM STUFF

HAVE A WRENCH READY AND PRACTICE FAST REMOVAL OF EITHER BATTERY CABLE OR SOME HEAVY SHEARS TO CUT ONE!

A CUT OFF SWITCH, EVEN A CHEAP ONE LIKE THIS, WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR FRIEND!

EVERY HAD THE SOLENOID "STICK"---THE ENGINE TURNING OVER AND OVER AND OVER, LIKE FOREVER.........WHILE YOU WERE HELPLESS TO STOP IT????

A GOOD INVESTMENT

....DOUBLES FOR ANTI-THEFT--FAST TO KILL, WHEN WORKING ON ANY ELECTRICAL STUFF

WHAT IS THAT YELLER SNAKE THAT RUNS CROSS WAYS OVER THE VALVE COVER AND IN FRONT OF THE PCV VALVE?

That yellow snake running across my valve cover is my vacuum advance line from my distributor.

I'm not sure what happened with some of the pics from your last post, but I can not view pic #3 and pic #4.

When I get everything prepared to give my coil straight juice from the positive terminal, do I need to remove my ballast resistor from the wiring to prevent any damage from back current?
