VALVE TIMING 518 BM

Yes you right. Its just that this car doesn't wonna start people say timing but I dont know how to set timing erm the only thing I know is no.1 piston up and rotor must be facing no.1 plug lead. So the real question I should be asking is whats the valve timing if no.1 piston is up? I put a new timing chain kit. Thanks for your answers really appreciate it.

Put the engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/ TDC and align the cam and crankshafts markings-it has to be on compression not on exhaust stroke
