So I'd just like to preface this by saying that I bought this car pretty much straight from the original owner and it looks to me as if everything is original and no one drove it or maintained it much. I'm trying to replace the starter but I'm having a very difficult time getting the original part out. There is a bolt that is blocked by the front of the frame and I'm extremely worried about stripping it as it is lodged on there and very awkward to access. My mechanics and I have been trying to get it out for three days to no avail and I'm wondering if there's anything more we can do.

What engine? Try removing the dog bones on top and rolling engine back. Take bolt out with starter after loosening up
