NEED HELP GETTING MY STARTED. DONT KNOW WHERE TO START ON THE TROUBLESHOOTING

1978 jeep. Stat by checking the wires going to the starter and solonoid. Make sure they get power when switch is turned. Did you check spark to each cylinder? You say it turns over but does not start. Take number one plug out and put a piece of something over the hole. Hold it in place. Turn over the jeep until you feel pressure pushing out the object. Check the distributor so the rotor points to one cylinder. Look at timeing marks and note it. If the compression stroke is off by a bit then the distributor may have skipped a tooth maybe not. Check the wires going to the plugs and make sure they are in the right order. These are the things I would do if it was my jeep.
