Any special tricks to get the speed out of dash
on a 66 gto

Disconnect the battery, take the face plate out then take out the speedo cluster. Screws hold them all in. Push the clip forward to release the cable at the back and pull the cable out. Unscrew teh speedo from the back once the cluster is out.

No special tricks the dash comes out as a unit. There are 4 screws that hold dash in. Remove them, reach under the dash might be a tight fit and unscrew the speedometer cable. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the dash from the front. Sometimes it takes some moving around if you don't have a adjustable steering wheel. If you do move it low position to give you more room.
