Won't Start

ok this is what my wife gave me. first it started to hesitate when she shifted up before it would take off. then as she was getting ready to cut the car off it quit on its own and wouldn't start back. I asked if it was a rough quit she said no it quit like it would if you turned the key off. I tried to roll start it still nothing and on the odometer it has all - - - on it instead of numbers
