Everyday as soon as I start my car white smoke appears on the left corner of the engine bay. I haven't really noticed a significant drop in my oil level. The smell of the smoke is similar to burning plastic. I also haven't really noticed an obvious oil leak. My antifreeze level is right where it need to be. I am trying to gather knowledge in regards to this problem to avoid taking it to an outrageously expensive BMW repair shop. Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated!

How much smoke? Are there any exhaust leaks? Is this only when started or does it continue after the engine is running?

Thank you for your response, my friend and I have fixed the problem. The problem was that I had an engine oil leak that was landing on the exhaust manifold which caused tons of smoke. The reason it was leaking was because the valve cover gasket was completely toasted. I have now replaced it and have no issues with the white smoke. I appreciate your help!
