Where does a hex screw go

Had the ac checked and check engine light was on. Got the car back and found 2 unslotted black hex screws sitting in the area under the hood where the wipers are - they must have not replaced them. Also found
long rubber piece laying across the inside, maybe piece to keep water away from engine or something?

An you tell me where hex type screws are used on 99 vw beetle?

Thank you so much!

Watch one of my videos to see where things might go.

The seal runs across the rain tray.

How long are the screws / bolts?

They are probably the ones that hold the air filter housing to the vehicle.

Can you post a picture of the bolts?

Post a picture of the engine bay, so I can tell you where to look.

Not a great picture, but it is the side view. The top is unslotted and has 6 sides (hex).

How big is that head? Looks big. Also looks un-even. Does it look like the top had some kind of rubber on the surface?
