2001 Volvo XC70 noise from drivers side wheel well

There is a clunking noise from the drivers side wheel well when the wheels are turned.
It looks like the spring is either broken or out of position.
Is this an easy repair of does it require a dealer?

"sounds like" a CV joint. Need to take apart the suspension to get the drive shaft out.

Have the spring seats checked. Those things break all the time.
