2000 Volvo S80 Driver side power door lock
Electrical problem
2000 Volvo S80 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100,00 miles
I removed the driver side inside door panel to expose the power door lock mechanism and actuator. I get a burring sound when I try to lock and unlock wuth the remote. It operates when locking but I have to reach around from the back and pull the knob while I press the remote unlock to get the driver door to unlock. The other doors and trunk function but I get that burring sound every time. At firdt I thought it would be the actuator but when I tested it with the panel off the burring sound seems to be coming from the lock mechanism not the actuator. Could this still be the actuator or should I replace the door lock mechanism?

You need to replace the whole lock assembly. The actuator is part of the latch. Good Luck.
