2001 Volvo S60 new batteries

Hi,
I recently purchased a used Volvo. It drives beautifully. I bought a new battery for it but after I installed it the service light comes on whenever I start the engine but goes off about 2-3 minutes after all the other lights turns off. What's up with that?

Replacing the battery has nothing to do with the service light coming on. Al it means is that you are do for your major service. The counter is set for the light to come on every 7500 mile service so you are either over due for your 90k or you are due for the 97500 mile service.
