1995 Volvo 960 Car suddenly loses all power

My 960 Volvo would suddenly lose all power while I was driving. I would pull over, shut the iengine off, wait a few seconds, then restart the car and it would run fine for months. It did this several times and my mechanic finally replaced the fule pump. It ran fine for a year and then stalled on me again recently. I restarted it and nursed it for a few blocks before it stalled again. Eventually it would start up but immediately stall - it's like it's not getting fuel or a spark to the plugs. Any idea what the problem could be?

Hello flannels. I have the same problem with a 1996 Volvo 960 2.5 from Spain.

I have changed the catalytic converter, lambda sensor, exhaust, fuel filters and the car still is stoping driving in the city. Never stops in a highway, only in city.

have you finded the trouble at the end? Thanks
