1993 Volvo 850 GLT has 210,000 miles Auto Trans
5 cyl gasoline 2.5L fuel injected Has strong battery and seems to be getting fuel up to the injectors. The motor turns over strong but just wont start.
This proble began a couple months ago and started with the car not starting after I had driven the car a while and stopped to go into a store, I returned to the vehicle and it would not start. I would let the car sit for a while and then it would start just fine. The car began doing this more often as time goes on. Now the car will not start at all and it seems to be draining the battery. I put a new battery in and the car turs and turns but does not start. Now the new battery goes dead over night. Im assuming there is a short in the electrical system that not only kills the battery but also wont allow the car to start. Is there a step by step procedure I can use to find my problem?

OK, first check for spark at the plugs- if those are good then check fuel pressure- a car that gets gas will turn over all day if it doesn't get the right amount. Also if you live in a cold area the cold itself can do some serious abuse to the battery and if you're just letting it sit there all the time and gooing out and burning down the battery when you want to try and start the car it'll kill a battery faster than you'd think- good luck
