1995 Volvo 850 fuel problem

If you pop your gas cap off have a friend turn your key so your dash lights come on you should put your ear up to the fuel filler (where you took the fuel cap off) as your friend turns the key you should hear a light buzzing noise for a couple seconds, if you do that indicates the pump is working it might not be pumping the way it should but you know it is, if you hear no noise at all that means the pump is not working, there is a fuse and a relay for the pump, either way I would check the fuse and relay first before putting the car in the shop
