my volvo 850 will not stay running if i let it go below 1500-2000 rpm and once it stalls it will not start back up again.

Do you have a check engine light and when was the last tune-up?

Check your fuel pressure/idle air control valve/motor/ISC solenoid and TPS/MAF/MAP to include a heck on the PCV and EGR valves/vacuum leaks
