88' ACCELERATION ISSUES + NOISE
1988 Volvo 240
I have a 88' volvo 240 with 200,000 miles on it. The car was taken care of its entire life very well(all maintainance done). The car is starting to loose power and not accelerating. It also makes a whinning rattle noise when idleing, and frequency changes when you step on the gas. I stopped driving the car so I wouldn't complicate things. And there is a black rubber hose the is just hanging loosely underneath the engine area( you can see it when you look underneath the car), I don't know if thats part of the problem, but I know nothing about cars. I will be taking it into a mechanic, and want an idea of what to expect. Thank you.
