My power steering has been messing with me alot lately. I have changed out the fluid a few times but the other day the belt from the power steering pump to the engine of the car snapped! I pulled over but the belt was gone. I went to a local auto parts store and they gave me a new belt. I know it is the right size but I cannot fit it on the pulley's. I have loosened the slides so that the power steering pump will slide towards the engine but that is where I'm having the problem. The pump won't move! Is there a locking mechanism I need to loosen before it will move or something?
