1988 Volvo 240 Repair Question
Asked on December 18, 2008
1988 Volvo 240 lights don't work - etc.
Electrical problem
1988 Volvo 240 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 180,00 miles
Hi - Background - there is a small conmputer board in the instrument cluster that keeps the temp guage steady. Have replaced it with a standard wire to by pass it - board goes bad in older models. Didn't solve the problem - guages (temp & gas) still go to max when lights are on. Maybe related to real issue.
Which is - with car idleing (lights on), inadvertantly pressed door lock, open-door bell began ringing (door closed). Headlights would not work (flashers - not, Directionals - yes) Open door bell continues.
Investigation reveals fuel pump fuse blown (fried, not just the wire popped).
Any ideas ??
Thanks
