Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1985 Volvo 240 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 268000 miles

Just bought this Volvo and it drove fine for the first week. Now it seems as though the clutch slips but it seems as though it is slipping in the rear end. I took the cover off today and cleaned around the gears as best I could. Everything looks to be pretty good shape. There is a little movement in the ring and pinion but no wore out gear and no steel in the oil. Very grungy and black though. Changed the oil and it is still doing the same thing. It just does it once in awhile. The clutch seems to grab good until this happens. Actually spins the tires if you get on it at take off. Is there a clutch in the rear end that could be causing this problem? I had a Rambler that spun a axle in the hub one time. Is this a possibility on a Volvo 240? Need Help Please
