Engine Performance problem
1983 Volvo 240 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 127300 miles
My car failed one of the idle emissions tests. The max HC (PPM) is 120 and my car registered at 127 so the car failed. This is the first time this has happened. Is there any simple fix that will help this. I have limited income and am not sure what to do at this point. I took the car straight to the test site. Would running the car for awhile before I take the car back help? Would any fuel additive or making sure the tank is full help? If not do you have an idea of what might be causing the high result?
