2006 Volkswagen Touareg Thumping Noise During Acceleration

2006 Volkswagen Touareg 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 54000 miles
When accelerating the car, there is a thumping noise in the rear half of the car. Once I level out to the speed limit, the ride is smooth.
Someone told me that it might be the universal joint. Thoughts?

Close, probably the center support bushing on the driveshaft. It is sold as a complete assembly with all new driveshaft, center support bushing, and bearing.
