2006 Volkswagen TDI noise under dash

I am getting a noise coming from under the passenger side dash when I start the car or when I switch from forward to reverse. It sounds like a small pump or motor. Any ideas of what this could be?

Have the Climatronic scanned for stored fault codes, if no codes, perform
"Basic Setting".

Try driving with the climatronic OFF. Still hearing the noise?
