Revving an engine
Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Volkswagen Passat 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 35000 miles
I was at a dangerous, nearly blind intersection on a steep hill.
When the traffic cleared enough to start, I had to really accelerate before releasing the clutch. I must have really gunned it for a second or two because the engine began to smoke and smell bad. (Like burned rubber, a bit) The next day it still smells when runs. I hope it is not seiously damaged. It seems to be running well, but I feel because of the smell that something is damaged. What did I do?
