2003 Volkswagen Passat rough idle and shaking while acclera
I have a 2003 VW Passat. I recently had the 2 axles replaced. Ever since I have driven my car, I have felt shaking while accelerating. A shaking from left to right. Also the idle is very rough. While I am stopped a stop light and in reverse the whole car shakes. I have never had this problem before with the old axles. Does this have anything to do with the recent work done on my car? I have the same issue. Were you ever able to get this resolved???
My problem started after the timing belt was replaced. The car rough idles and shakes while at a stop. help!

Changing the timing belt really won't have any effect on the rotating mass to cause violent vibration. It would have to be driveline related, possibly a balance issue within the motor or the driveshaft itself.
