Shakes or Wobbles problem

i need this to be answered! I am in the process of buying a VW Polo There was a vile vibration in the car but he said it could be the engine mount or tick over. Gone back to it the vibration is still pretty bad and he says theres nothing wrong! its only when stationary when moving its great, but you talk in the car and its like talking with your head under water... its awful
