2005 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 80K miles

Trying to figure out why the trunk will not open from the trunk release in the drivers door. It will open with the key fob but not with the switch. That is a two switch setup:one for the fuel tank and one for the trunk. The fuel tank works fine.

Is there a seperate fuse for the trunk switch or just a bad switch?
