How do you remove and replace a freeze plug from a 2000 VW Jetta (VR6)? Also, anti-freeze is leaking from the engine between the engine and the firewall, any ideas where it is coming from? I replaced the overflow tank (where you put anti-freeze into the engine) and all the hoses and and connectors on the right front side of the motor (looking and standing in front of the car)

Freezeplugs. Hard to replace with engine in vehicle.

You have to hit them on one side with ahammer and punch and pull them out. Or use a slide hammer and self tapping screws to pound them out.

You should use a socket slightly smaller then freeze plug to put it in or the proper tool to use.
