I have a 1999 VW Bettle, manual transmission with with 69K miles. It runs like a champ! My problem is that the car alarm system activates on an off without any apparent reason. The only way I can get the alarm to temporarily stop is by deactivating the alarm, unlocking the car and relocking the car. This seems to alleviate the problem for the moment until it happens again and again.

What seems to be the problem?
