I recently bought a 1974 beetle and changed the motor with an earlier year motor. The alt. on the 74 had a 3 prong plug that plugged in and a red and black wire going to the post. the motor i put in only has 2 posts and no plug in on the alt.? I no longer have the alt off the 74 so what can I do to wire the alt. up? Do I need to buy a volt. regulator? I'm assuming the 74 had an internal regulator so there was not one on the body? Please help me figure this out, I appreciate anything you can do to help me. Thanks
