1996 Vauxhall Astra exhaust emiission warning light

1996 Vauxhall Astra 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 50k miles
exhaust emission warning light stays on most of the time.have replaced the coolant temp sensor.the heating in car doesnt get very hot.

have the vehilce plugged into a diagnostic computer to locate the cause of the light being on .. repost with fault codes for more assistance
