I have had a coolant leak for quite some time. It is coming from the top of the motor somewhere and I do not have a pressure tester to check where it sould be coming from. Is this a common issue for this make and model? And this morning on my way to work I noticed that I had me heat on but it was only blowing cold air. It worked yesterday but now apparently it isn't. There was no fore warning of this just apparently stopped. What can I do to fix both of these issues? Thank you.

Coolant leaks and heating issues can be frustrating, but diagnosing and fixing them can vary depending on the specific circumstances. I'll provide you with some general guidance that might help you address these problems, but please keep in mind that I can't provide real-time diagnostics. For accurate advice, it's always best to consult a professional mechanic or a Jeep dealership.

Coolant Leak:
Coolant leaks can occur for various reasons, including a damaged hose, a faulty radiator, a failing water pump, or a cracked engine block. Given that you mentioned the leak is coming from the top of the motor, it could be related to a component in that area.

Here are some steps you can take to address the coolant leak:

Visual Inspection: Even without a pressure tester, you can perform a visual inspection of the engine bay to look for signs of coolant leakage. Check for wet spots, drips, or any obvious cracks or damage.

Coolant Reservoir: Inspect the coolant reservoir for any cracks or leaks. The reservoir is usually located near the radiator and should have a visible coolant level indicator.

Radiator and Hoses: Check the radiator and hoses for any visible damage. Cracked hoses or a damaged radiator could be sources of leaks.

Water Pump: While it's more challenging to inspect the water pump, it's a common source of leaks. Look for signs of coolant around the water pump area.

Pressure Test: If possible, consider having a pressure test done at a mechanic's shop. This can help identify the exact location of the leak.

I have filled it before but never had problems with the heater before. I found out the water pump is leaking thanks to the guide. That should fix the heater problem as well?
