CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON SINCE JAN. SCANNER SAYS BAD CATALYTIC CONVERTOR. DID NOT REPLACE IT. NOW TRUCK DIES WHEN SITTING AT AN IDLE. STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, RPM GAUGE SOMETIMES DROPS TO ZERO AND TRUCK SHUTTERS A LITTLE BIT, THEN PICKS BACK UP. FOUND A PACKRAT NEST IN THE AIRBOX. REPLACED AIR FILTER AND CLEANED THROTTLE BODY- CARBONED UP.

T cat converter code canbe several things but with mileage I would suspect it's the converter. It cold also be an air leka in exhaust among other things and you shold get it replaced. T may be causeing your problem of stalling if you have cleaned the tbi an dreomoved thejunk form air cleaner. Also check fuel pressure with a gauge autoparts rent it.
