I got this car for free from my brother he new it needed a new head gasket I got it for my son. I have removed the head and had it machine. I have purchased a service manual for this car however, I need help in determining how to set the crankshaft relative to the crankshaft position sensor. Can I assume that if I put the crankshaft on the trimming marks as outline in the service manual, that I will have the crank shaft correctly set as far as the crankshaft position sensor is concerned?

I think so, usually the camshaft sensor is the tricky one!

Once you set the crank, the camshaft sensor should be properly set assuming that timing belt is set correctly. Is this accurate?

I could look it up for you, but you forgot to give the engine size?
