2002 Toyota Tacoma 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I put a quad runner in the bed of my truck and shut the tail gate. I tried to open it and the latch sprung but the tail gate didn't open. I think the pressure from the quad wouldn't let the mechanical latches release. Now what?

Ok so is there an access panel inside on the back of the gate held on by screws? If so remove it and you will see the handle and the rods and the latches. This will gain access so that you can hopefully open the gate. Now if the 4 wheeler is still in the truck you will need to find a guy with a snowmobile lift or something and lift it out first.
