2002 Toyota Rav4 RPM goes down when the car is in neutral

Hi
I have toyota RAV4 2002 manual model. my first and terrible question is my engine is going to stop when the gear is neutral position. RPM meter is slowly going down to 0 position. its not happening when running. it comes when the engine is slow. Eg: when its in the traffic.
