I was once told some cars after you fix the problem it should go away but thats not for all cars you could have a bad sensor I dont now I now yyou can take of the battery and it will reset the car and no check light will be on. Be sure to take off the battery for 2 or 3 minets light will got away it resets everthing if it comes back you proble got a bad sensor somewere I thing auto zone offers a free check engine analises they give youa trouble code and let you now wat it is or you can check here they have a trouble code section here.

I am losone the new Toyota moderator

The engine oil light is a DUH circuit comprised of a pressure switch that allows the light to come on if there is less than 7 lbs of oil pressure. The switch has a single wire with the switch usually located somewhere near the oil filter.

THERE IS NO RESET FOR THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT.

If your oil pressue had been 7 pounds or less you would be like the ad I saw in the paper the other day-"-For sale old ford truck, no motor but sure tows easy."

Locate the sensor remove the wire and turn the key on and see what the light does. Ground the wire and see what the light does. One of the two tests should put out the light. If the light goes out, replace the pressure switch.
