Abs

Brakes problem
2002 Toyota Highlander 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 65000 miles

Sometimes when I brake the ABS system is activated. This happens under normal dry road conditions. The pads and rotors are all in good condition. There is no dash abs light on. Otherwise drives fine. Any ideas/ fixes?

perhaps i can help you with this problem.

chances are your ABS speed sensors at the wheels are going and causing them to missread and think the wheels are locking up causing the abs to kick in.

try cleaning them first, if that doesnt help take it in and have them tested.

it may also be the ABS ring on the axle shaft, if that is going it will cause a missread.

and rarely the wheel bearings may cause this.
