Brakes problem
1973 Toyota FJ-40 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 66,000 miles

If I press on the pedal just once it will not stop, but, if I pump them about three times it will stop the cruiser and not bleed off. I have 4 wheel drum brakes. I have rebuilt all 8 of my wheel cylinders, replaced the booster and put a new mastercylinder on. None of these have fixed the problem. The only thing left that I can think of is the proportioning valve, could that be the cause?

Hi there, this sounds like an adjuster problem, go over all the adjusters, do up each until the brake locks up then back it off till the wheel frees up, start here.
