Hi, ive got a toyota corolla 1.8 vvtli. My engine has began to tap pretty loud. The t sport mode dosnt work properly either. Before the t sport mode used to kick in at 5000revs, now it kicks in at 6250revs, why is yhis?

You either have a shim (clearance) problem or possibly a chain.
The early 1ZZFE engines were a bit buzzy, but I would take it to Toyota to have it diagnosed, since it requires special tools (and shims) to bring clearance into tolerance.
