2001 Toyota Corolla Repair Question

2001 toyota corolla
When I try starting my car it sometimes makes a clicking sound (like amachine gun). The lights and radio work but the car won't start right away. What's the problem?

The a/c will blow cool for about an hour then all of a sudden the air becomes gradually warm. Does anyone have insight on this problem? Thanks in advance.
