1993 Toyota Corolla Car will not go into gear 4th

Transmission problem
1993 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

There is one time my starter spoil, so I change a new one and i'm not using the car about 1week due to outstation. When I use back the car 3rd to 4th gear is not change at all. Sometime the car will run without any problem and sometime 4th gear will not get into.
On top of that i'm not tune the car for about 6 month. Is this related to Tranmission?
Please Advice.

Hi there,

start with getting the transmission serviced, as it may just have a stick shift valve.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your fast action and advice. What do you mean transmission serviced?FYI, I already changed transmission oil & filter (TOYOTA T-IV)3 times, but still same problem.

Hi there,

Yes the service is just that, changing the oil & filter, you can ask a transmission shop to check the line pressures, this may indicate a faulty seal or valve, regardless I feel that the trans will have to be pulled and inspected.
