1989 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 123K miles

I jump started the car and it ran for more than an hour and after stopping the engine, the car is not starting again. Could this be a alternator problem? How to check this? What is your suggestion?

If it's not cranking. The battery is dead, to rule out the alternator take it off the vehicle and take it to a auto parts store for testing. If it's in working order have the battery tested.

To me it sounds like a bad alternator., But have it tested before you start throwing parts into your vehicle..
