Engine Performance problem
1992 Toyota Celica 4 cyl Manual 310000 miles
Hi, i have a 1992 toyota celica, and recently it has had major probelms with acceleration. I didnt have any problems up until i changed the battery a few weeks ago,and ever since the car has had problems on and off with acceleration. So sometimes when in first gear taking off from stand still, it will go incredibly slow as if its stuggling, up until about 4000rpm then it suddenly takes off. it only seems to happen when its a hotter day though. everything else is fine and works. it doesnt matter how hard i push the accelerator at this point it just increases at speed at the same rate. rarely do i have a problem with any other gear - sometimes 2nd (same problem though). i had a major service done a few months back.
